Course Overview

This subject covers concepts and techniques required to secure, monitor, manage, and support mobile devices deployed across an enterprise. Devices running iOS and Android operating systems will be covered. Topics include implementing a mobile device strategy, various mobile device management solutions, mobile device lifecycle and security.

 

 

Objectives

 

This subject aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills to secure, monitor, manage, and support mobile devices deployed across an enterprise. It also aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills to evaluate solutions to manage mobile devices.

Entry Requirements

Applicants applying for modular units which are drawn from existing full diploma or post-diploma programmes will have the same minimum entry requirements as the full qualifications.

Modes of Assessment

 

100% coursework

 

1. Lab Exercise

The lab exercise will be used to assess students’ understanding of fundamental concepts and theoretical aspects of the subject. The exercise will comprise an open-book assessment, where students will be allowed to make use of specific information sources/ references.

 

2. Written Test

The written test will be used to assess the students’ theoretical understanding of mobile device management concepts and techniques.

 

3. Project

The project will be used to assess the students’ knowledge of the concepts and techniques to secure, monitor, manage, and support mobile devices in an enterprise environment. Students will be required to write a report and present their findings and report to describe the mobile device strategy and propose suitable mobile device management solutions.

 

 

Certification

 

Upon successful completion of the modular unit, students will be awarded a Statement of Result which can count towards the attainment of the Diploma in Infocomm and Digital Media (ICT Systems, Services & Support).
