Course Overview

Process Management is the management of business as a series of processes resulting in the creation or improvement of products and services that customers need.  This subject provides an understanding of concepts, theories and methods a team leader needs in order to initiate and carry out process management activities. Key topics include time study, process management, analysis and reengineering.

 

The aims of this subject are to:

 

  1. enable students to play a role in the organizational end-to-end improvements with a systematic approach by using the SIPOC (Suppliers, Inputs, Process, Outputs, and Customers) model.
  2. equip students with concepts, methodologies and tools so that they could employ the Six-Steps Improvement approach in processes.
  3. provide students with the knowledge to identify opportunities for greater improvements with the concepts of benchmarking and reengineering. 

Entry Requirements

Applicants applying for modular units which are drawn from existing full diploma or post-diploma programmes will have the same minimum entry requirements as the full qualifications.

Certification

 

Upon successful completion of the modular unit, students will be awarded a Statement of Result which can count towards the attainment of the Diploma in Engineering (Operations & Systems Management).
