Course Overview

This course will introduce you to big data, its properties, data structures and use cases. You will also appreciate the differences between traditional data warehouse and big data.

Who Should Attend

This programme is designed for anyone who has no prior knowledge in Big Data but who is curious to learn the basic concepts of Big Data. Those who have basic experience with at least one programming language and basic knowledge of data warehouse will also benefit.

1. Differentiate the different data structures

2. Describe concepts of big data and its business value

3. Describe the difference between traditional data store architecture and the big data architecture

Ramasamy Sakthivelu Maheswari is currently a lecturer in Temasek Polytechnic in the diploma in Big Data and Governance. She holds a Master of Computing degree from the National University of Singapore. She has experience in teaching both adult learners and full time students, Big Data related subjects.
