At the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Describe the role and importance of the airline industry as a major global employer and how it contributes to a country’s economy
- Identify the different types of airline business models
- Describe the main characteristics of passenger airlines
- Describe the key components of Air Service Agreements (ASAs)
- Explain the basic organisational structure of FSCs (Full Service Carriers) and LCCs (Low Cost Carriers)
- Summarise the roles and functions of the various levels of airline personnel
- Identify the differences between staff and line functions
- Explain the importance of safety and customer service training
- Explain the impact of corporate norms and values on airline business
Participants who complete the following suite of MLCs will be eligible to apply for exemption to part-time Diploma in Engineering (Aviation Management) upon successful admission into the programme offered by Temasek Polytechnic, subject to the approval of the polytechnic:
Upon successful admission, they will also be granted partial exemption in the Airline Business Management module.
(Note : Partial exemption can be granted in the form of exemption from theoretical lessons and/or test components.)
