Mr Masaaki Hamada

Masaaki Hamada is the Managing Director of Asuene APAC Pte Ltd, spearheading business expansion across the APAC region (excluding Japan). With a background in global tech giants like Meta and Google, along with experience in the manufacturing sector in Japan and Southeast Asia, Masaaki brings extensive expertise. His leadership has driven growth and innovation at Asuene, fostering a culture of collaboration and creativity. Masaaki graduated with a Bachelors in Economics from Keio University (Japan) and a Masters in Business Administration from ESADE Business School (Spain).

Ms Joann Chan

Joann Chan has been in the sustainability space since 2011. She started her career working for the Singapore government (at the National Environment Agency), before switching to pursue sustainability in the aviation industry (for Singapore Airlines' Sustainability Office). She spent the last 5 years in sustainability consulting and has helped many APAC corporations achieve their sustainability goals, through carbon accounting, Science-Based Targets setting, and CDP and EcoVadis consulting. She graduated with a Bachelors in Environmental Engineering from Nanyang Technological University and a Masters in Environmental Sciences from the University of Copenhagen.

Mr Fumitaka Machida

Fumitaka Machida began his career at the Export-Import Bank of Japan (now Japan Bank for International Cooperation: JBIC) in 1992. Worked in numerous positions, including Representative of JBIC London; Secretariat Member at Policy Research Council of Liberal Democratic Party; Chief Representative of JBIC Singapore; Counsellor and Special Advisor at National Policy Unit, Cabinet Secretariat, Government of Japan (politically appointed by Prime Minister); and Chief Representative of JBIC Regional Headquarters for Asia and Pacific. Also served as Senior Research Fellow at Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia: ERIA. Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.), Keio University (1992), and Associate (Program completed), Harvard University (2002).

Dr Wuang Shy Chyi

Shy Chyi leads the technology development in the School of Applied Science, TP, and is actively involved in research and consultancy work in sustainable water and energy treatment strategies. She is a Singapore Certified Energy Manager and an qualified internal auditor of ISO 50001:2018 Energy Management Systems.

Dr Miao Huang

Miao Huang has a PhD in Microbial Genomics and Genetics with 15 years of research experience in the areas of applied microbiology and sustainability. She worked closely with industry partners for research and consultancy projects on waste upcycling. She is also a certified (by TÜV SÜD Singapore) GHG accounting lead verifier in accordance with ISO 14064 series.

Mr Zacchaeus Siew

Zacchaeus is a chemical engineer with experience in chemical processes and plant safety. He is a qualified Workplace Safety & Health Officer, and a Singapore Certified Energy Manager. He has extensive experience with training adult learners, especially in areas of process operations, safety and environmental management.

Mr Bong Chee Keong

Chee Keong has over 20 years of industry experience in water and environmental engineering sectors and currently leads innovative research in sustainable water solutions. With years of teaching experience in chemical engineering, he incorporates technical depth into the curriculum with strong delivery.
