Is Tuition Grant (TG) scheme applicable to me if I am taking full time diploma course?

Is Tuition Grant (TG) scheme applicable to me if I am taking full time diploma course?

Yes, the MOE Tuition Grant (TG) Scheme is open to students enrolled in full-time Diploma programmes in the polytechnics to help defray the cost of their tertiary education.

  • For Singapore Citizens: You will be automatically awarded a Tier A TG, which is the highest level of subsidy, upon successful enrolment into the polytechnics. This is provided that you have not benefited from TG previously to complete a course at the same or higher level of education.
  • For Permanent Residents: You may apply for a Tier B TG if you have not benefited from TG previously to complete a course at the same or higher level of education. If you take up the TG, you will be required to secure employment and serve in a Singapore entity for three years upon graduation. Application for TG will be made available upon successful enrolment into the polytechnics.
  • For International Students: You may apply for a Tier C TG if you have not benefited from TG previously to complete a course at the same or higher level of education. If you take up the TG, you will be required to secure employment and serve in a Singapore entity for three years upon graduation. Application for TG will be made available upon successful enrolment into the polytechnics.

You are required to submit one of the following forms to the Polytechnic.

a. Tuition Grant Eligibility Declaration Form (PDF: 403KB) (applicable to Singapore Citizens only); or
b. Tuition Grant Option form (PDF: 328KB) (applicable to Singapore Permanent Resident (SPR) or International Student (IS) who wish to apply for TG).

If you do not submit the TG Option form, it is deemed that you decided not to apply for TG.

For SPR and IS who decided to apply for TG, you must submit an on-line application for TG scheme at the MOE’s website and complete the execution of your TG Agreement with Ministry of Education (MOE) by the stipulated dateline before you are granted TG. In the TG Agreement, you will be required to secure employment and serve in a Singapore entity for three years upon graduation. Please refer to question 5 below on execution of TG Agreement with MOE.
