Temasek Polytechnic Introduces Skills Transcript at Graduation 2026, A First Among Polytechnics in Singapore

Advancing holistic student development beyond grades for a skills-driven future

Graduating students from Temasek Polytechnic (TP) in 2026 were the first across polytechnics in Singapore to receive a Skills Transcript, gaining an edge in pursuing their aspirations. This marks a new chapter in recognising student achievement beyond academic results, reflecting TP’s focus on holistic development and future readiness.

The Skills Transcript captures each student’s personal learning journey in TP, bringing together academic performance, co-curricular involvement and experiential achievements. It includes a summary highlighting key experiences and skills aligned with SkillsFuture Singapore’s Skills Taxonomy.

Through the Skills Transcript, TP provides graduates with a structured summary of their skills and learning experiences for use in applications to jobs, universities and scholarships. The transcript has been made available for download by all graduates from 1 May onwards. More details on the Skills Transcript are available in Annex A.

TP Graduation Ceremony 2026 – 4 to 11 May 2026

TP’s Graduation Ceremony was held from 4 to 11 May 2026 across 17 sessions, celebrating more than 5600 graduands from 39 full-time and 47 part-time diploma courses. This year’s cohort includes the inaugural graduates from five new part-time programmes, marking a milestone in TP’s continuing education efforts.

These include graduates from the Diploma in Immersive Media and Game Development and Diploma in Product Experience & Design. Reflecting growing demand in areas such as community care and special needs education, the cohort also features inaugural CET graduates from the Specialist Diploma in Applied Autism Studies and Specialist Diploma in Gerontology (Community Care Practice).

Celebrating Our Students

Celebrating the spirit of student excellence, 15 TP students, including 3 adult learners were conferred this year’s Polytechnic-Level Awards in recognition of all-rounded achievements across academics, co-curricular pursuits, and contributions beyond the classroom. The recipients reflect TP’s commitment towards holistic student development across diverse areas such as arts, sports and community service. The Polytechnic-Level Awards include the Lee Kuan Yew Award, Lee Foundation Award and Tay Eng Soon Gold Medal, and Ngee Ann Kongsi Awards.

The inaugural SkillsFuture Lifelong Learning Awards, which recognises outstanding Continuing Education and Training learners across the polytechnics were also conferred this year.

Their achievements were recognised at TP’s Graduation Ceremony on 8 May 2026, with Minister for Education and Minister-in-Charge of Social Services Integration, Mr Desmond Lee who attended as Guest-of-Honour. Minister Lee addressed the graduating class from the School of Applied Science and presented the Polytechnic-Level Awards.

About the Temasek Polytechnic Skills Transcript

The Skills Transcript is the first of its kind among polytechnics in Singapore that provides a holistic view of the students’ competencies beyond academic achievements, including soft skills, co-curricular activities (CCAs), and relevant internship experiences.

Aligned with SkillsFuture Singapore’s Skills Taxonomy, the transcript, which was presented to all graduating students starting in 2026, enables students to stand out in the competitive job market by highlighting attributes that may be of increasing importance to employers. The Skills Transcript is part of TP's broader strategy to nurture well-rounded students so that they can excel both academically and in critical real-world skills.

The Skills Transcript comprises personalised summaries of each student’s skills and attributes in the areas of academic, co-curricular and experiential achievements. These attributes are defined in the TP Student Profile (TSP), which includes innovation and entrepreneurship, critical thinking and resilience. Students can preview and track their skills acquisition and TSP attributes development during their three years at TP. This empowers students to take greater ownership of their learning journey by making well-informed and proactive decisions about subjects, internships, CCAs and projects that align with their personal development and career goals while fostering self-directedness and lifelong learning.

With the Skills Transcript, employers can identify the right candidate for the job more effectively. Developed with feedback from industry partners across various sectors, the transcript enables employers to make more informed hiring decisions, as they will be better able to assess the students’ key capabilities and relevance for the position available, facilitating a better job fit.

Career Kickstarter 2026: Expanded Support for Alumni Upskilling and Employment

Complementing this, Career Kickstarter initiated by TP supports graduates and alumni in continuing to build relevant skills, access career opportunities and adapt to evolving industry needs. First introduced during the Covid-19 period, Career Kickstarter was piloted in 2025 as an integrated suite of TP’s career-related initiatives. A central microsite serves as a first-stop hub for graduating students and TP alumni to access resources and opportunities.

Insights from the pilot showed that job opportunities generated the highest level of interest among graduates. In response, there will be a stronger emphasis on employment-focused support and workforce transition for graduates. Career Kickstarter will scale up efforts focused on graduate employment, while continuing to provide practical career guidance, employment support resources and upskilling opportunities.

Graduates can engage 20 TP Student Success Coaches, who will provide customised support to each graduate. These coaches will provide personalised career coaching and counselling, resume preparation and job search guidance to enhance their employability.

TP will also increase internal job opportunities and expand external industry partnerships to provide a more sustained and diverse pipeline of job opportunities for our graduates. More than 50 opportunities will be offered within TP, including graduate internships and positions on campus across diverse areas like communications, HR and applied science to support graduates seeking employment.

In the pilot, more than 600 job opportunities were made available to the 2025 Graduation cohort through Career Kickstarter, to support graduates transitioning into the workforce. TP will continue to deepen industry engagement efforts to increase the number of partners and expand the job opportunities available on the Career Kickstarter portal.

Career Kickstarter will continue to offer career resources and upskilling support, including AI-related courses offered to graduates. These offerings complement Career Kickstarter’s employment-focused approach by equipping graduates with relevant skills and resources to remain adaptable and competitive in the evolving workforce.
