The Temasek Polytechnic (TP) Student Internship Programme (SIP) and Overseas Student Internship Programme (OSIP) provide the opportunity for organisations in Singapore and around the world to engage the next generation of multidisciplinary creative talent from TP’s award-winning School of Design.
Grounded in disciplines spanning communication design, product experience, interior architecture, fashion, film and digital media, TP School of Design (DES) students bring more than diploma-specific skills. They combine curiosity, human-centred thinking and an adaptable, collaborative mindset to approach challenges from new perspectives.
For host organisations, this means more than additional creative support. DES students can complement existing strengths, bring a new lens to projects, spark fresh ideas and contribute to meaningful solutions.

Today’s designers are no longer confined to creative agencies, boutique studios or in-house departments. A SIP or OSIP placement typically lasts 20 weeks, which gives design interns time to understand your organisation, integrate with your team and make meaningful, sustained contributions.

Apparel Design & Merchandising students connect creativity, consumer insights and commerce through fashion development, trend research, branding, merchandising, visual merchandising and textile exploration.
Communication Design students build brands and connect organisations with audiences through brand identities and campaigns, graphic design, social content, UI/UX, motion graphics and visual storytelling.
DFT students bring stories to life through concept development, video production, photography, editing, post-production and motion graphics.
Interior Architecture & Design students shape purposeful environments through spatial concepts, space planning, material research, technical documentation and 3D visualisation.
Product Experience & Design students translate human insights into products and experiences through user research, experience design, concept development, CAD modelling, prototyping and 3D visualisation.

We welcome established companies, small and medium enterprises, startups, studios, public agencies and social enterprises across the private, public and people sectors. Those without an in-house creative team can also engage our interns and benefit from the fresh perspectives and creative capabilities they bring.

SIP and OSIP placements have a typical duration of 20 weeks and follow TP’s academic calendar. Our team will advise you on the applicable dates and requirements.
Where the placement process allows, employers may review relevant portfolios and meet shortlisted students before confirming a placement.
Employers should appoint a workplace supervisor to provide direction, feedback and professional guidance. TP also stays connected with employers and students throughout the placement.
Yes. Employers are to pay a nominal allowance to interns in accordance with TP’s prevailing programme requirements.
Hybrid arrangements may be considered if they provide appropriate supervision, interaction and workplace exposure. Confidential projects are possible when suitable confidentiality and intellectual property arrangements are agreed before the internship.
Yes. Internships allow employers and students to assess their longer-term fit. Employers may discuss future opportunities directly with students or contact us about recruiting graduating students and recent graduates.
