Course Overview

This subject provides an overview of the key facilities and systems in both the landside and airside of an airport. 

 

 

Objectives

 

The objectives of this subject are to equip students with knowledge and skills to:

  1. Describe the key facilities and systems that are essential to the operation of airports
  2. Illustrate the key features, functions and operation of the key facilities and systems including safety considerations, performance assessment
  3. Relate the principal considerations in planning for key airport facilities and systems
  4. Identify the likely evolution of the key facilities and systems in adjusting to the future trend in airport operation and management
  5. Describe the various types of aircraft pavement classifications, specifications and maintenance

Entry Requirements

Applicants applying for modular units which are drawn from existing full diploma or post-diploma programmes will have the same minimum entry requirements as the full qualifications.

Certification

 

Upon successful completion of the modular course, students will be issued the Statement of Result which can count towards the attainment of the Diploma in Engineering (Aviation Management).
