Course Overview

This subject provides a general overview of the procedures involved in the implementation of substantive criminal law. The enforcement of laws is carried out by appointed authority figures and they are required to follow certain procedures in establishing the culpability of an accused person. Part of the course briefly discusses rules related to evidence. Students will also gain a general understanding of important concepts in criminal law, and be introduced to the basic fundamentals of criminal law in Singapore.

Entry Requirements

Applicants applying for modular units which are drawn from existing full diploma or post-diploma programmes will have the same minimum entry requirements as the full qualifications.

Upon successful completion of the modular unit, students will be awarded a Statement of Result, which can count towards the attainment of the following: Diploma in Policing & Security Management.
