Course Overview

This modular unit covers the essential aspects of the work involved in criminal procedure from the perspective of the prosecution and the defence. Participants will also gain practical knowledge in the drafting of documents needed in criminal matters.

 

 

Objectives

 

The modular unit aims to provide participants with:

  • A working knowledge of criminal procedure as provided for in the Criminal Procedure Code 2010 and the Evidence Act (Cap 97) and of the administration of criminal justice generally
  • The necessary skills and knowledge to draft documents needed in criminal matters.

Entry Requirements

Applicants applying for modular units which are drawn from existing full diploma or post-diploma programmes will have the same minimum entry requirements as the full qualifications.

Upon successful completion of the modular unit, students will be awarded the Statement of Result which can count towards the attainment of the following courses:
