Course Overview

This course will introduce participants to the various application areas and techniques of text analytics. Participants will learn about text clustering, text classification and sentiment analysis.

Who Should Attend

Participants who have completed Introduction to Social Media Analytics and Text Analytic Process and who are interested to learn how text classification, clustering and sentiment analysis is carried out.

What You'll Learn

At the end of this course, you will be able to:

Describe different methods of text categorization.
Describe cluster analysis in text analytics.
Describe sentiment analysis in text analytics.

Mode of Assessment

Tests / Quizzes – measure participants’ understanding of key concepts and application of concepts learnt for each topic.

Kai Song

Kai Song is a lecturer at the School of Informatics & IT. He graduated from the NUS with a Master’s degree in Computing. His area of specialization was in the use of artificial intelligence for optimization. Kai Song teaches Business Intelligence and Data Analytics related subjects. Aside from teaching, Kai Song also worked on Business Intelligence project as well as provides consultation for Data Analytics projects.
