Course Overview

Are you a manager, data analyst or business analyst looking to deepen your skills in data analysis? Or do you handle data regularly and seek to better understand how to derive insights from them? This course will greatly enhance your technical capabilities in managing data, which is a versatile skill set across various industries.

 

Being the first Specialist Diploma in Singapore to meet the increasing demand for well-trained data professionals, we have more than 1000 graduates since it was first launched.

 

In this course, you will gain practical skills to manage business analytics projects and apply data analytics techniques to mine both structured and unstructured data for insights. You will learn to select and implement predictive modelling to support business goals. Additionally, the course will equip you with the ability to craft compelling data visualisations and communicate insights through storytelling techniques—enabling data-driven decision-making across your organisation.

What You'll Learn

To be awarded the Specialist Diploma, participants are required to complete a total of 2 Post-Diploma Certificates (PDCs). A certificate will be issued upon successful completion of each PDC.

This subject focuses on developing skills in creating compelling narratives through data visualisation tools. It also covers various visualisation techniques, transforming data into actionable insights and effectively communicating complex data findings.

This subject introduces techniques for communicating data findings, tailored to a target audience, by connecting the dots using compelling narratives and visuals such as storyboarding. It also covers using Generative AI to craft narratives and optimise the storytelling process.

This subject covers the knowledge and skills involved in sentiment analysis and text analytics. The application of text mining techniques to unstructured data, obtained from social media platforms or other channels, for the discovery of trends and sentiments which can be used to develop actionable insights for better business decision making will also be covered.

This subject covers data mining techniques and provides hands-on experience in using data mining tools and software. It also emphasises the gathering of business needs requirements to ensure that analytics solutions align with organisational objectives. It provides opportunities for students to integrate and apply the data mining knowledge and skills acquired to make data-driven decisions in specific business domains such as Customer Analytics and Marketing Analytics.

Modes of Assessment

 

The assessments would comprise a combination of coursework components such as written and practical tests, case studies, assignments and projects.

A Polytechnic Diploma or ITE Technical Diploma / Technical Engineer Diploma / Work-Learn Technical Diploma or equivalent
OR
A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

A Post-Secondary Certificate

AND with at least 3 Years of relevant working experience
