In attending the PFA workshop, participants will learn to:
- Recognise common mental health problems in their workplaces and within their social circles;
- Recognise the types of mental health crises and their possible psychological outcomes on the persons-in-distress, including their caregivers or family members;
- Gain better insight and understanding of mental health crisis situations and what can be expected;
- Provide emotional support for persons-in-distress with appropriate communication skills;
- Listen and respond reflectively and empathically;
- Know when and how to signpost access to further professional mental health support;
- Acknowledge the importance of practising self-care and stress management strategies.
