Singapore’s threat environment is constantly evolving, and security professionals are faced with new challenges to ensure the safety of critical infrastructure, people, technologies and assets. Supported by ARUP, this workshop will help enable security practitioners to understand the Critical Infrastructure Protection in relation to the Infrastructure Protection Act (IPA), and the steps necessary for effective protective security systems.
This workshop is targeted at the Security industry. It enables security practitioners to understand Critical Infrastructure Protection in relation to the Infrastructure Protection Act (IPA), which was passed in Parliament on 2 Oct 2017 and made effective from 18 Dec 2018.
This workshop is accredited by the Security Association Singapore (SAS). Participants will be awarded “Continuing Professional Development” (CPD) points. Please visit the SAS website here for more information.

For WSQ Short Courses
- It is a requirement for all trainees to attain at least 75% training attendance and pass the assessment for EACH module to enjoy SSG’s subsidy. Trainees who do not meet the requirement will have to pay the full unsubsidised course fees.

Ryan Tham is the Resilience, Security and Risk Leader at Arup Singapore.
An engineer by training, Ryan has spent his professional career in the field of security. He has extensive experience in security planning and threat vulnerability & risk assessment. Ryan has worked on the design and implementation of various critical infrastructure projects – assisting clients on comprehensive physical, electronic, and blast solutions. Project sectors have included water treatment facilities, substations, MRT infrastructure, healthcare facilities and aviation facilities.
Patrik Sarka – Senior Security Consultant | Arup Singapore
Patrik Sarka is a Senior Security Consultant at Arup Singapore.
Patrik has planned and provided security consultancy services locally and regionally for projects consisting of high-value, complex critical facilities. This has included services from a master plan level to an asset level and from a design stage until a construction stage in a range of sectors including government, healthcare, hospitality, education, water and power supply, waste management, transportation, commercial and information communication.
Yue Shing Fung – Senior Security Consultant | Arup Singapore
Shing Fung is a Senior Security Consultant at Arup Singapore.
Shing Fung has more than a decade of experience in risk assessments, security planning, electronic security system design, security audits and project management from both the military and the private security industry. He has worked expansively on projects in both Singapore and abroad, with sectors including MRT infrastructure, Health Services, Data Centers, and Waterworks.
Lim Lip Boon – Blast Consultant | Arup Singapore
Lip Boon is a Blast Consultant with Arup Singapore and a qualified Competent Person (Blast) under the Infrastructure Protection Act.
Lip Boon’s in-depth understanding of structural design enables him to provide sound and practical solutions for blast impact assessments and blast resilience. He has been involved in a range of projects encompassing rail infrastructure, mixed development, aviation, petrochemical, telecommunication and waterworks.
