Course Overview
The gut microbiome is unique to each individual and so should be the approach to nutrition. This engaging, science-based course introduces a personalised perspective on nutrition, grounded in the latest research on gut microbiome health. Instead of relying on generic dietary advice, the course examines how individual gut ecosystems influence digestion, immunity, metabolism, and mental well-being.
Designed for professionals in the health, wellness, nutrition and food-related sectors as well as individuals with a background or strong interest in nutrition and healthy living, the course integrates expert-led insights with interactive elements such as hands-on meal preparation and practical exercises. Participants will develop the knowledge and skills to make informed food and lifestyle choices that support gut health and overall wellness.
This course is delivered in collaboration with AMILI Pte Ltd, Asia’s leading microbiome company that aims to advance human health through science. Spun out of the National University of Singapore, AMILI is building the world's largest multi-ethnic gut microbiome database to power next-generation health solutions from diagnostics and probiotics to personalised nutrition. With operations across Southeast Asia, AMILI partners with hospitals, wellness providers, and global consumer health brands to turn Asia’s unique gut data into insights that improve health outcomes and everyday wellbeing.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand how gut health varies among individuals and why a "one-size-fits-all" approach does not work
- Explain the role of the gut microbiome in digestion, immunity, and chronic disease prevention.
- Identify foods that support or disrupt gut health.
- Apply principles of macronutrient balance, fibre, hydration, and fermented foods to plan gut-friendly meals.
- Practise food label reading and meal planning for gut health.
- Recognise how lifestyle factors like stress, sleep, and physical activity impact the gut microbiome.
