Course Overview

Red Teaming is a program that uses different scenarios to test the effectiveness of security measures. It serves as a tool for continuous improvement through the identification of gaps and recommendations for improvement. Having an established process to conduct Red Teaming exercises is part of the assessment criteria for Security Agencies Grading Exercise under the Police Licensing & Regulatory Department.

Participants are encouraged to attend the “Introduction to Red Teaming”. Participants taking this workshop without attending the “Introduction to Red Teaming” should possess the relevant knowledge on Red Teaming.

This workshop is accredited by the Security Association Singapore (SAS). Participants will be awarded “Continuing Professional Development” (CPD) points. Please visit the SAS website here for more information.

Lecturer/Trainer Profile

Dex Yuan

Dex Yuan MBA, CPP is a seasoned security professional with more than 22 years of experience in the public and private security sectors.

He started his career with the Singapore Police Force in 1996. He left the public sector in 2001 to join Agilent Technologies as a security executive, before joining Avago Technologies as the APAC workplace services and security manager.

In 2008, he joined the Resorts World At Sentosa (RWS) as the pioneer team to set up the security of the 1st integrated resort in Singapore. He held various appointments during his stint in RWS and was instrumental in implementing various security initiatives, including the successful Red Teaming program.

He left RWS in 2013 to join SP PowerGrid, a utility company in Singapore with the largest critical infrastructures in Singapore. As the Deputy Director of Security, he managed the security of the entire powergrid in Singapore.

Dex was the honorary chairman of ASIS International (Singapore Chapter) from 2017 to 2018. He is currently the Assistant Regional Vice-President (Singapore & Indonesia).

Dex holds various academic and professional certifications, including the Master of Business Administration (MBA), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Fire Safety Manager (FSM), Business Continuity Certified Expert (BCCE) and Project Management Professional (PMP). He is also a Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) practitioner, an executive coach and a certified trainer.
