b'WORKPLACE COMMUNICATION GUIDEAhmad Naufal Bin Mohd Salleh, Chermaine Lin Kah Mun, Chin Jia Wen Matilda, Goh Yi Xuan Jillian, Maya Sri Dewi CIntroductionThis guide was created with the aim of helping individuals with High Functioning Autism (HFA) learn how to better communicate with neurotypical individuals in a workplace setting, in two very specific areas in which these individuals have major deficits in: Socialization and Communication. This guide was therefore created for both neurotypical individuals such as job coaches and trainers, and HFA individuals themselves. That is, neurotypical individuals can refer to this guide when teaching the HFA individuals. Simultaneously, the HFA individuals can use this guide as reference material to learn and/or revise what was being taught. This project was in collaboration with a non-profit organization, Trampolene. Trampolene provides various services to help the underserved individuals in Singapore reach their fullest potential. With their guidance and valuable inputs, this workplace communication guide was carefully constructed. MethodologyThe process to develop the guide mainly consists of interview sessions and usability testing. The research team interviewed four trainers to find out more about the challenges faced by HFA individuals in the workplace setting and the common strategies used to help teach these individuals. These trainers were recruited with the help of our main counterpart at Trampolene. Responses from the interview sessions were analysed, and the inputs were incorporated into the draft of the guide. The drafted guide was then sent to the main counterpart at Trampolene to obtain feedback on the design and content of the guide. Based on the comments from the counterpart, the team made the necessary changes and edits. The design and content of the guide were thus improved and finalised.7TH PSYCHOLOGY STUDIES 31STUDENT CONFERENCE 2021'
