b"DEVELOPMENT OF GROWTH MINDSET RESOURCES FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATORS Gary Cheo, R Trisha , Sherwenn Oh, Tai Wing KitIntroductionIn recent years, the government has been focusing more on the socioemotional development of its students by utilizing resources such as the NEL Framework and Character & Citizenship Education (CCE) lessons in primary and secondary levels of education. However, research has shown that socioemotional development is the most beneficial for its students when introduced at a younger age where the child is around four to six years old (i.e., preschool age). This is because children at this age are more susceptible to the cultivation of important socioemotional skills such as characteristics of a growth mindset and yet these resources are scarcely available at the preschool level of education. Hence, in a bid to understand what form of resources could be effective at the preschool level of education, the research team collaborated with the National Healthcare Group (NHG). In this project, we developed materials for NHG. We seek to understand the perspectives of preschool principals, preschool educators, and parents of preschool children, regarding the resources that could be used or are used to develop socioemotional skills and growth mindset characteristics in preschool-aged children.MethodologyThe research team seeks to apply existing research on the development of childrens Growth Mindset in Singapore's preschool context. To achieve this, the research team aims to develop materials to encourage the inculcation of Growth Mindset amongst pre-schoolers by training preschool educators to implement attributes of Growth Mindset into the current preschool curriculum. Due to the lack of understanding of the current preschool curriculum by the research team, interview sessions with three groups of stakeholders were conducted (Figure 1) to obtain input and suggestions to aid in the development of teaching resources that could be used to teach Growth Mindset Characteristics. 7TH PSYCHOLOGY STUDIES 77STUDENT CONFERENCE 2021"
