b'Encouraging Household Recycling in Older EstatesFindingsIn summary, this study found that paper was the category where participants could best identify whether a household item is recyclable or not, while plastics was the category with the opposite trend. Additionally, five factors, namely (1) Lack of Awareness, (2) Lack of Education, (3) Lack of Convenience, (4) Lack of Recycling Culture, and (5) Issues with Recycling Bin could account for reasons why individuals do not recycle, or why they only recycle certain items.Participants most correctly identified the recyclability of paper materials, at 81% accuracy. The category Metal registered 68% accuracy, Glass at 64% and Plastics being the poorest identified category at 63%. As a result, plastics formed 7 out of the top 10 misclassified items.
