b'MANAGING MENTAL HEALTH IN THE WORKPLACEAliya Ram Prashad, Nicole Long Lingli, Elaine Pan Yiling, Chia Ming Cat, Nurin Arlynna Andre PuteriIntroductionWith increasing attention being placed on the mental wellbeing of employees, and growing recognition on how a negative work environment can impact their mental health, Temasek Polytechnic (TP) was keen to equip their Reporting Officers (ROs) to provide the necessary support needed when their subordinates come forward with concerns. Up till 2020, no such program has yet been introduced to identify and detect mental health concerns amongst employees. Hence, we collaborated with the Centre of Applied Behavioral & Social Sciences to identify the current mental health landscape in TP, and develop a training programme targeted at reporting officers, to address these gaps. This project has 4 aims:1. Equip ROs with adequate skills to address mental health issues in the workplace2. Raise awareness about mental health practices and culture in the workplace3. Encourage growth and development of personal coping skills4. Address gaps regarding mental health in the workplaceMethodologyThere were four key stages in this project: (1) project preparation; (2) material development; (3) pilot testing; and (4) discussion. The diagram below illustrates the processes that took place in each of the stages chronologically.7TH PSYCHOLOGY STUDIES 65STUDENT CONFERENCE 2021'
