b'APPLYING B.I TO INCREASE E-WASTE RECYCLINGThe actual collection drive was held over a single weekend in September 2020. There were threedistinct collection points distributed evenly based on the geography of the precinct. As residentsrecycled their E-waste, key information was noted. This includes the actual items where photos weretaken of them and sent to a WhatsApp group for documentation. Next was a survey for the individualand an observation sheet which noted their demographic details.FindingsThe main aim of the analysis was to determine which factors had a significant influence on thenumber of people who recycled, and the number of items they recycled. One main finding was thatproximity (closeness) to the collection point and presence of collection point had a statisticallysignificant effect on the number of people who recycled, whereas messaging type (environmental vsdecluttering) and the messaging medium (posters vs leaflets) did not.Factors Influencing Number of People Recycling E-Waste Effect of Messaging Type on Effect of Messaging Medium onNumber of PeopleNumber of People20 15 20 1510 7 10 70 0Environmental Decluttering Poster Poster and LeafletNo significant effect of messaging type No significant effect of messaging mediumEffect of Proximity on Number of People Effect of Presence of Collection Point on 31 Number of People4020 15 13 40 31 3020 20 01 230Distance from the collection point (units) Present AbsentSignificant effect of proximity; Significant effect of presence of collection more people closer to collection point recycled. point; more people from blocks with collection point recycled.Factors Influencing Total Number of Items RecycledMessaging Type Proximity No significant effecton total number of items Messaging Medium Presence of CP recycled7TH PSYCHOLOGY STUDIES 41STUDENT CONFERENCE 2021'
