Course Overview

This subject provides the fundamental knowledge needed in the ethical and strategic business management of interior design practice. Strategies for managing the various components of an interior design business will be introduced. The subject covers the importance of business management in areas with regard to ethics, finance, people management, and leadership.

 

They will be made aware of the importance of business management in areas with regard to ethics, finance, people and leadership. To further inspire students in areas pertaining to the business of interior design management, they will be exposed to industry best practices by means of engagement with interior design industry practitioners.

Entry Requirements

Applicants applying for modular units which are drawn from existing full diploma or post-diploma programmes will have the same minimum entry requirements as the full qualifications.

What You'll Learn

The subject aims to equip the students with the skills and knowledge to:

 

  • manage office operations, company standards, and human resource management
  • monitor project and office accounts, tracking profitability and managing cash flow
  • establish core values in line with ethical business practices and code of ethics

Upon successful completion of the modular unit, students will be issued the Statement of Result which can count towards the attainment of the Specialist Diploma in Interior Design Practice.
