What You'll Learn

1. Routing and Routing Protocol

2. LAN Switching Technologies

3. Wireless LAN

4. Wired, Wireless LAN Design and WAN

Modes of Assessment

100% coursework

1. Assignment

The assignment will be used to assess the student's application of the knowledge and skills of the concepts. The assignment consists of a case study to assess the student's research skills to propose feasible solutions to real-life scenarios and quizzes to assess students’ understanding of networking concepts. The students are required to submit a report for the case study.

2. Practical Test

The practical test will be used to assess the students’ hands-on skills in the application of the theoretical concepts.

3. Project

The project will be used to assess the student's application of the skills in a real-life wired and wireless enterprise network scenario. Students will work in small groups and propose a feasible solution to a given scenario using routing, switching and wireless technologies. The students are required to submit a report and present their solutions.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the modular unit, students will be awarded a Statement of Result, which can count towards the attainment of the Diploma in Infocomm and Digital Media (ICT Systems, Services & Support).
