Course Overview

This subject provides the fundamental knowledge needed for analysing the technological innovation that has the potential to positively transform the interior design practice. It covers an introduction to current trends and its impact on the interior design industry in Singapore. The subject also provides exposure to relevant trends from the adjacent design industry, so as to gain insights into possible pivotal opportunities to enhance value creation by interior design practices.

 

They will be made aware of the interior design industry transformations in Singapore. Students will also be exposed laterally to adjacent design industry trends, so as to gain insights into possible pivotal opportunities to enhance value creation by an interior design business.

Entry Requirements

Applicants applying for modular units which are drawn from existing full diploma or post-diploma programmes will have the same minimum entry requirements as the full qualifications.

What You'll Learn

The subject aims to equip the students with the skills and knowledge to:

 

  • organise a categorisation of potential technological innovations available
  • compare different ways in which technological innovations can potentially transform the interior design practice
  • apply the Innovative Mindset to continually sustain technological innovation

Upon successful completion of the modular unit, students will be issued the Statement of Result which can count towards the attainment of the Specialist Diploma in Interior Design Practice.
