Course Overview

This course provides an overall perspective and understanding of psychology as the scientific study of human behaviour and mental processes. Fundamental concepts, theories and methodology in the study of general psychology will be explored to:

Develop understanding of the major psychological issues and;
Applications of theories and principles in everyday lives. This subject will focus on core areas of psychology such as cognitive, social, motivation & emotion, and personality.

Entry Requirements

Applicants applying for modular units which are drawn from existing full diploma or post-diploma programmes will have the same minimum entry requirements as the full qualifications.

What You'll Learn

Understand major contemporary theories and principles across core areas in Psychology (e.g., cognitive, social, motivation and emotion, and personality).
Appreciate the application of psychological theories in society and in everyday lives
Understand basic research approaches in Psychology

Continual Assessments 100%

Certification

Upon successful completion of the modular unit, students will be awarded a Statement of Result which can count towards the attainment of the Specialist Diploma in Applied Psychology (Behavioural Insights).
