At the end of this course, you will be able to:
List basic statistical tools for measurement uncertainty estimation
Identify various types of errors incurred in chemical analysis
Perform calculations for the propagation of random errors
Relate samples to a population
Explain normal, rectangular and triangular probability distributions of data
Determine the confidence interval in a measurement
Identify outliers from a set of analytical data
Participants who complete the following suite of MLCs will be eligible to apply for exemption to part-time Specialist Diploma in Laboratory Management & Instrumentation upon succession admission into the programme offered by Temasek Polytechnic, subject to the approval of the polytechnic:
Upon successful admission, they will also be granted partial exemption in the Measurement Uncertainty module.
(Note : Partial exemption can be granted in the form of exemption from theoretical lessons and/or test components.)
