Hands-on curriculum that involves solving real-world business problems
The minimum admission requirement is a Polytechnic Diploma.
Holders of other equivalent academic qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted may have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.
The Specialist Diploma in Business Development in Technology is targeted at the following:
• Graduates with relevant diplomas keen to leverage their existing technological skill-set to include digital marketing and business development in technological products and services
• Diploma graduates employed in technology roles and wish to acquire customer facing and pre-sales related job roles
• Diploma graduates seeking to gain deeper insights into digital marketing with a view to move into this area
This subject focus on digital marketing theory and techniques. Students will acquire fundamental knowledge to plan and implement integrated marketing activities across various digital channels such as social media and search engine.

This subject introduces Design Thinking as a human-centric and interdisciplinary approach towards innovations and as a technique to develop new ‘things’. Students will gain the ability to analyse business needs, elicit business requirements and design customer centric solutions.
|BCBT013||Strategy in Technology Business
This subject builds on the fundamental knowledge of digital marketing to focus on the implementation of a technology business’s digital strategy with particular emphasis on digital content management, search engine marketing, social media marketing and optimizing digital marketing campaign performance with analytics.
Leveraging on their existing technical background, students will acquire practical skills in implementing solutions for publishing digital contents, executing digital marketing campaigns and performing marketing analytics.
|BCBT014||Business Development and Implementation
This subject focuses on the implementation of go-to-market and pre-sales strategies of technology products and services. Students will acquire an understanding of building and managing the business development pipeline, identify and analyse market needs, develop business opportunities and lead the sales cycle.
Leverage on their existing technical background, students will acquire the skills in lead qualification, responding to Request-for-proposals and to present, demonstrate and propose solutions. Topics on proof-of-concept development, negotiation and post-sales support will also be discussed.

Graduates will gain the requisite skills and knowledge to be digital marketing executives, business development executives and customer-facing technologists for the organisations with whom they are employed at the end of the programme. It also opens up new career options in pre-sales consultancy and business development.
