Course Overview

Strict PDPA guidelines came into effect on 1 Sep 2019, affecting the collection of NRIC. These guidelines make it illegal for organisations to collect, use or disclose NRIC numbers or make copies of identity cards. Security agencies are obligated to ensure that personal data such as NRIC, birth certificate, FIN and work permit numbers are "sufficiently secured" and are inaccessible to unauthorised parties. The course will help participants identify key legislative and regulatory requirements under the PDPA and will explore the issues faced by Security agencies.

This workshop is accredited by the Security Association Singapore (SAS). Participants will be awarded “Continuing Professional Development” (CPD) points. Please visit the SAS website here for more information.
