Course Overview
This is a blended course, covering 98 hours of e-learning and 12 hours of facilitated face-to-face sessions. It introduces the basics of aquaculture, general concepts of fish diseases, disease management and vaccination, broodstock management, water management as well as the practical operational aspects of an aquaculture farm. Learners will have a good understanding of the industry and the key skills and knowledge in aquaculture.

Certification
Participants who meet at least 75% of the required course attendance and pass the assessment will be awarded an e-Certificate of Completion.
Recognition towards Specialist Diploma in Aquaculture Management & Technology (SDAMT)
Upon successful course completion, you can proceed to apply for the SDAMT and be granted 1 PDC exemption. This means that you can complete the Specialist Diploma in just 1 Semester. This allows you to gain the Specialist Diploma Certificate while learning to better optimise aquaculture operations through responsible practices.

Dr Wuang Shy Chyi
Shy Chyi has 12 years of research experience in aquaculture water treatment, and has developed an innovative microalgae-based Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) which can achieve complete water treatment. Her current work includes feed formulation using alternative protein sources.
Dr Syed Musthaq
Musthaq is a lecturer and researcher in the Centre for Aquaculture and Veterinary Science, School of Applied Science, Temasek Polytechnic. He has close to 20 years of research experiences in shrimp virus diagnosis, molecular detection of infectious diseases and development of vaccine targets against pathogens. His more recent work includes oral vaccine development for fish viruses, fish gut microbiome and feed formulation.
Dr Huang Zhi
Huang Zhi is an environmental engineer and researcher with expertise in aquaculture water treatment, membrane bioreactor technology, energy and resource recovery from wastewater treatment.
Mr Glendon Teo
Glendon is a specialist in plankton culture, biofloc culture and fish breeding. He has developed the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the Centre for Aquaculture and Veterinary Science, School of Applied Science, Temasek Polytechnic in the areas of fish breeding, quarantine and live feed production. His recent interests include conversion of waste resources into feeds.
Mr Christopher Chor
Christopher has industry experience in the water sector, and has been involved in the operation, maintenance and process development of water and wastewater treatment.
Ms Sakinah Mulyana
Sakinah is a Senior Technical Executive in the Centre for Aquaculture and Veterinary Science, School of Applied Science, Temasek Polytechnic. Her expertise includes fish microbiology and system management.
