Course Overview

Leveraging on the wide range of OMRON Adept Robots deployed at the smart factory within Temasek Polytechnic Advanced Manufacturing Centre for flexible production of 6 different products in high-mix-low-volume, our experienced trainers and industrial coach from Advanced Automation Queen Bee, OMRON Electronics will equip the participants with knowledge and skills to initialise, calibrate, operate industrial robots in particular mobile robots and articulated robots. The learners will also be guided to set up and plan paths and tasks for mobile robots, design Human Machine Interface(HMI), write robot motion programmes as well as read and write RFID tags for tracking components. In addition, participants will learn to interface programmable logic controllers(PLC) with robots as well as debug robotics programs for recovering common faults in robotic applications.

Entry Requirements

Participants should have relevant working experiences in manufacturing sector.

Lecturer/Trainer Profile

Mr Peter Lim

Mr Peter Lim has been teaching and coaching at Temasek Polytechnic for over 20 years. Before he joined Temasek Polytechnic as a lecturer, he was an automation development engineer at Motorola Electronics, where he was involved in the development of robotic applications with vision systems for the assembly of pagers. He had working experiences with Seiko Epson, LG, Yaskawa, ABB, and Universal robots in the areas of robot programming, hardware-software interfacing, end-effector design, and conveyor systems.

Mr Tan Tai Suan

Mr Tan Tai Suan has more than 15 years of coaching experience as a facilitator for full-time diploma courses and customised industrial courses in the areas of robotics system integration and advanced manufacturing. He is very experienced in industrial collaboration projects in robotics, embedded systems, industrial edge controllers, software programming, and RFID tracking systems.

Mr Justin Quek

Mr Justin graduated from SIT Singapore and has journeyed along his career path as an Application Engineer at Omron Singapore.

He has well-versed knowledge and know-how in RMF and ROS skill sets to support daily-arising technical issues.
