Course Overview

This one-day workshop aims to highlight the important aspects of Paris Agreement as the worldwide effort to mitigate climate change. It will equip the participants with practical knowledge and skills to initiate programs for measuring, reporting and verifying greenhouse gas emissions to meet the requirements of Carbon Pricing Act and Energy Conservations Act. The participants will also gain insights on major energy efficiency enhancement projects that took place in Singapore. The workshop will be concluded with a learning journey to a solar photovoltaic energy test-bedding facility in Temasek Polytechnic.

 

 

Objectives

 

Participants will be able to:

  • Explain climate change and discuss Paris Agreement and their relevance to Singapore.
  • Describe Carbon Tax and its purposes.
  • Measure and report greenhouse gas emission
  • Initiate cost-effective measures to enhance household and industrial energy efficiency
  • Figure out how clean energy could be integrated into a building’s electrical facility.

  • Initiatives to improve energy efficiency for household sector
  • Successful energy efficiency improvement projects for industry sector
  • Environmental sustainability programs for public sector

Clean Energy

  • Educational visit of a grid-connected solar photovoltaic energy test-bedding facility in Temasek Polytechnic.

 

 

Certification

 

There will be an assessment at the end of the course and participants will be awarded with a Certificate of Accomplishment upon passing the assessment and upon meeting 75% of the required course attendance.
