Course Overview

The course will cover the Standard Operating Procedure in handling refrigerant in a typical chiller. Various methods of refrigerant recovery methods and safety measures will be discussed. This course includes a half day practical hands on session for participants to carry out refrigerant recovery process when a chiller is decommissioned.

Entry Requirements

Minimum 3 years of work experience. The course will be delivered in English. Theory and practical tests will also be conducted in English.

  • Understand the Refrigerant Cycle
  • Explain the differences in properties of refrigerant used in various cooling systems
  •  Explain the environmental impact of refrigerant
  • Elaborate the safety requirements when carrying out the refrigerant recovery process
  • Classify refrigerants according to ASHRAE 34 standards
  • Perform checks and preparation work for refrigerant recovery
  • Perform refrigerant recovery for positive and negative pressure refrigerant
  • Record and document the recovery process

 

 

Certification

 

Participants will be issued with a Certificate of Accomplishment upon meeting 75% of the required course attendance and passed the assessments.
