Course Overview

This course is designed for learners involved in the provision of environmental services. Learners will be equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge required in the relevant workplace safety and health issues.

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for learners with work experience in cleaning or those joining the cleaning profession in the environmental services industry.

What You'll Learn

Upon completion of this course, learners will be equipped with the technical skills and competencies required to adhere to safe work practices and risk control procedures which includes participating in workplace safety and health management activities and following workplace safety & health emergency procedures.

 

Topic 1: Adhere to safe work practices and health risk control procedures at the workplace to minimize accidents.

1.1 Observe personal hygiene to prevent and minimize any accident at the workplace

1.2 Conduct proper check and use of personal protective equipment adhering to the company procedures.

1.3 Use and maintain equipment and safety devices adhering to the company procedures or facility owner’s instructions.

1.4 Comply with safety signs and instructions in the workplace.

1.5 Follow workplace safety & health risk control measures to prevent any accident at the workplace.

1.6 Reporting of workplace safety and health problems to appropriate person adhering to company procedures and Workplace Safety and Health Act (WSHA). 

 

Topic 2: Participate in Workplace Safety & Health Management Activities

2.1 Identify and report common workplace safety hazards and risks involved in the working environment

2.2 Reporting of any workplace safety hazard working conditions according to the company procedures

2.3 Participate in resolving safety hazards and risks identified in the work area in accordance with the risk control measures and company procedures.

2.4 Familiarize on using appropriate personal protective equipment requirements adhering to the company procedures and WSH risk control measures.

2.5 Participate in identifying safety device required for safe operations of vehicle, machinery and equipment if any at the workplace.

2.6 Familiar in obtaining information required to handle safety hazard at the workplace adhering to WSH risk control measures.

2.7 Rationale of attending workplace safety and health training to understand and adhere to WSH risk control measures.    

 

Topic 3: Adhere to workplace safety & health emergency procedures

3.1 Response to the various types of emergencies at the workplace.

3.2 Use appropriate equipment and materials required in responding to workplace emergency adhering to WSH risk control measures.

3.3 Prompt activation of emergency services at the workplace during emergency to minimize further delay of the risk.

3.4 Adhere to the instructions given by the authorized personnel at the workplace in the event of emergency adhering company procedures.

3.5 Participate in the company emergency response exercise in accordance to the WSH Act and company procedures. 

3.6 Follow infectious disease outbreak control instructions at the workplace according to the WSH risk control measures.
